FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Where can the inflatable be set up?
An inflatable/bounce house unit can be set up on any level area whether its grass,
cement or asphalt. Please accurately specify what type of surface you are planning
the inflatable to be set up on. The area should be clear of all obstacles including
sticks, stones, sharp objects, sprinkler lines, etc. The unit is also staked down or
sand bagged down (depending on the surface).
How much room do I need?
For a bounce house, plan on a 20’x20’ area at a minimum. Make sure that there are
no overhead tree limbs or power lines and is not near a pool/pond/lake etc. If you
are unsure if your location will work, please call one of our representatives and we
will assist you the best we can.
Can I pick the unit up?
Sorry, for the safety of the riders and our equipment, we do not allow customer
pickups of any inflatables. We do allow, however, customer pickups for concession
machines and carnival games.
What kind of power do we need?
Each unit requires a 20amp/110V outlet, preferably separate from other items
requiring electricity. The power source must be within 100ft of the inflatable.
Is there a delivery charge?
There is a delivery charge for each rental unless the location has the zip code 49315.
Delivery charges will be quoted before booking via online or over the phone.
Where do you deliver?
We service all of Grand Rapids and most surrounding West Michigan areas. Call us if
you are unsure if we deliver to your area.
What if it rains or is too windy, do I get a refund?
If it is too windy or raining, inflatables cannot be setup outdoors. No full refunds are given in the case of incliment weather in which inflatables cannot be setup outdoors, however we will apply your deposit to another event within 90 days of the cancelled event. After a unit has been setup, if weather conditions change rendering it unsafe to operate the inflatable, our
crews will come back to tear down early if possible. In that case there will also be no refund.
How do I reserve equipment?
To reserve any of our equipment for your event, you can either book online or
call one of our representatives (recommended). A non-refundable 50% deposit is
required for all events.
How long is a moonwalk rental?
All inflatable rental prices are for a standard 6 hours (see FAQ Rain). The inflatable
will be dropped off sometime after 8am and 30 minutes before your event, and picked
up anytime after the scheduled event end time specified on the contract. All rentals must
end before 9pm during the Summer months and 8pm during the Fall months. Fun food
machines, carnival games, and dunk tank rental price can be a 24 hour rental, but if rented
with an inflatable, all items including inflatable will be dropped off and picked up at the
same time.
How far in advance should I reserve the equipment?
Place your reservation as soon as possible as dates book up fast. We prefer at least 2
weeks notice.
When is the payment due?
Payment in full is due upon delivery, before units are set up, and deposits are due
before the event day. We accept cash, check and credit. Crews will not be dispatched
to your location if a deposit has not been received and units will not be set up if
final payment upon arrival is not received.
How many riders can be a bounce at one time?
15’x15’ bouncers can fit up to 6 kids under the age of 16 and up to 5 riders if over 16.
13’x13’ bouncers can fit up to 5 kids under the age of 16 and up to 4 riders if over 16.
All other inflatables can hold up to 5 riders. Adults can bounce too!
Are moonwalks/bounces safe?
Absolutely! All of our inflatables are commercial grade with 15-20oz fire retardant
vinyl and come with emergency exits, inflated safety ramps, visible operating
instructions, and blowback valves. Of course, all safety rules must be observed and
an adult present at all times. Accidents and injuries may still happen as with any
social play situation. All riders participate at their own risk.
Do you carry insurance?
Yes. Backyard Bouncers is a division of ACP Entertainment, which is a fully insured
corporation. A copy of our insurance policy can be provided upon request. Some
events may require additional insurance (large corporations, public parks, etc.),
which could require additional insurance. Additional insurance could be an
additional cost. Call a Backyard Bouncer representative for more information.
What are my responsibilities?
A fully trained and responsible adult (over the age of 18) must supervise the
inflatable at all times. Do not allow riders to enter the inflatables without 100%
constant fully trained adult supervision. Safety rules and procedures will be
presented by one of our crew members to the renter after the unit is set up. The
renter is responsible for keeping the inflatable clean and safe from damage.
Can you provide an attendant?
For an additional charge, an attendant/operator can be provided for your event.
Is there a cleaning charge?
Backyard Bouncers cleans all inflatables on site before and/or after every rental at
no charge to the customer. If additional cleaning is needed, a cleaning fee of $50 to
$200 will be charged to the renter after verbal or written notification. All concession
machines are to be cleaned by the customer as instructed.
Who picks up the equipment when we are done? We do!
Backyard Bouncers staff will come at the conclusion of the event to tear down the
equipment and take it away. Trust us, you don’t want to have to do all that yourself!
Can we tip the delivery driver(s)?
Absolutely! All of our staff strives to serve our customers to the best of their
abilities, and its not easy work! Tips encourage crew members to do their best all
day/weekend long.
